How to save DVD film on your PC?
If you want to save and then play the films on your PC, we advise you, by means of our program, save the films in the formats AVI or WMV.
In order to start working with your DVD film, you need to add it to the program. For this, open the file VIDEO_TS.IFO that is in the folder “VIDEO_TS”. If you want to learn more about the possibility of adding DVD into the program, please, read the instructions (“Help”).
Before the conversion you need to choose an audio track with a suitable language, because sometimes a DVD film has some languages.
When you have already added the film and selected the sound track, it is high time to choose the desired quality of the result file.
If you want to save the video leaving the high quality of video images, then we advise you to use the advanced codecs, such as DivX, H.264, as well as advanced technologies "2 Pass Encoding" using that can maximize the quality.

How to create a copy of a DVD disc (for playing on a home DVD device)?
Thanks to Axara Video Converter, you can easily make a copy of a DVD film (even if the film is licensed). The copy is written by the program automatically.

Example:
If you have a 7.8 Gb disc with a film, the program can compress it to 4.3 Gb (so, reduce the size of the disc) and then write the film on a standard DVD-R disc. This result is achieved by leaving only one language in the film and the possibility of editing: removing the advertisement and other related information.

| What do you need to make a copy of the disc? |

Add the file Video_TS.ifo from the DVD film into the program. |

* 2 Pass Encoding - is a special mode, when the video is encoded in two passes (the initial video file is worked out twice). During the first pass, there is a process of getting some information about the initial video. Thanks to this, there is an opportunity more optimally to allocate bitrate on the result file (foe example, at the beginning of the film, when there are the titles and not so much moving scenes, the bitrate can be low and the quality will not change, but in the middle of the film on the dynamic scenes the bitrate increases).
On average, bitrate remains such as given in profile.
Bitrate – is the number of bites in video per second (the parameters are responsible for the quality of the video).
